Mark B. Carrier Photography - Smithfield, Rhode Island
Hey there!
I’m Mark, a photographer who discovered his passion for capturing moments back in 2012. It wasn’t until I graduated college that I treated myself to a Sony Alpha 6000 camera and realized photography could be more than just a hobby.
One incredible experience changed everything for me. A friend asked me to photograph her engagement, even though I was terrified of shooting people at the time. But I took the leap, and it turned out to be one of the most amazing moments of my life – and I wasn’t even the one getting engaged! That experience opened my eyes to the possibility of turning my passion into a fulfilling career. From that point on, I hustled like crazy, reaching out to everyone I knew, eager to capture their precious memories through my lens.
What sets me apart as a photographer is my distinct style. Armed with my trusty Sony A7R mV, a 61-megapixel camera capable of capturing breathtaking detail and colors, I’m drawn to a desaturated, film-like aesthetic with a touch of pastel tones. I love playing with color contrast, finding the perfect balance to make subjects pop in a captivating way. But here’s the thing: I believe photography goes far beyond the camera itself. While AI-powered cameras are great tools, true mastery comes from understanding the craft, from lighting and composition to posing and styling. That’s why I’m constantly consuming information and pushing my skills to new heights. It’s high time I shared my knowledge with aspiring photographers too, don’t you think?
Let’s talk about my clients. I genuinely adore them! Getting to know their stories, and learning how they started their businesses or embarked on ambitious projects, fuels my passion. While I’m not exclusive to small businesses or personal brands, I’ve found incredible connections with those who value quality, art, good food, and drinks. I believe that beyond transactions, we’re all real people in a community, supporting and inspiring one another. By creating meaningful connections and delivering exceptional experiences, I strive to make a lasting impact.
Speaking of my areas of expertise, real estate photography allows me to compose and meticulously capture spaces, while product photography lets me style and present items in a way that tells meaningful stories. Personal brands fascinate me because they’re like books waiting to be told through imagery. And lately, I’ve developed a newfound interest in food and restaurant photography, relishing the process of watching a chef create culinary masterpieces – it’s like witnessing art in motion.
While I’m based in Smithfield, Rhode Island, I extend my services beyond its borders. As a freelance photographer for The Smithfield Times Magazine, I have the pleasure of meeting fascinating individuals, including politicians and business owners. Although I love being involved in the local community, I’m ready to capture meaningful moments throughout Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Vermont, and even Maine, depending on the project.
My aspirations are grand, and I’m not shy about it. I’m determined to be sought after, and renowned for delivering the best photography and client experiences. I dream of being internationally published, jetting off to breathtaking locations, and building a community of photographers who support and uplift one another. Financial stability is something I’ve longed for, and I’m excited about what the future holds for my business.
If you’re ready to embark on an unforgettable photographic journey, I’d be thrilled to collaborate with you. Reach out to me at Mark@MBCPhoto.com, and let’s create art together!
